cultural and social project for blind people.

 Spain-Italy
With artist Rafel d'Olot.
14-11-2012/ 15-12-2012

That is the project.
With the support base of the artist and creator of the artwork, Rafel d'Olot, Girona (Spanish)
This is a great project for humanitarian and social thought for the blind.
The basis of the project are works of art created by the artist with his self-taught art, Rafel d'Olot.
The artist has been studying various techniques throughout his career getting a touch sensitive area for people who can only play, and interpret art differently than usual.
The artwork created for this group of people, are very different, three-dimensional and adaptable to the touch.
So once the artist and studied his subject, has begun to capture all kinds of art with silhouettes of great diversity, forests, flowers, fields, coasts, houses, cars, endless objects we find in our passage through life.
The concept is to show the artist is art (paintings) to blind and both enjoy art like everyone else.
It is an innovative project, so we want to take place in Italy, in principle, as it is a country that values the culture, and good work for people with problems.
The work has been tested by various blind, through the Department of Culture of the ONCE headquarters in Barcelona.

Rafel d'Olot (artist)
Rafel Street born in Sant Rafel de Olot in January 1970.
The marked concern for painting and highlights from his childhood. In the 80s began the first studies in the School of Fine Arts and Crafts Olot, when receiving classes and teachers Carlos Aulí Lluís Soler, under the direction of Joan Vila Montcau.
His working life took a different turn, but it has always been deeply connected to the world of painting. In 1998 the School of Fine Arts of Sant Joan les Fonts, where he studied for a decade delving into the various techniques of drawing and painting. In 2008 this school leaves to pursue higher studies and
immerse themselves in reuniting with his style.
All with great success and fulfillment. Currently their artwork become an obvious and well made style, based on the volumes, textures and colors that provide pleasing his beloved land, Garrotxa region of Girona, Spain.

Rafel d'Olot, painting for blind persons.
Painting to see and touch.
Defining Tiflológica Tiflología and painting.
The Tiflología is the science that studies the conditions and problems of the visually impaired (blind and sighted), in order to identify ways to apply their full social and cultural integration. The term is tiflología tiflo-words (of "blind" the Greek typhlós) and-logy.
Appeared in Italy in the mid-1940s and originally meant the discipline that studies the conditions and problems of the blind, especially in relation to their integration into the world of work. Since the second half of the eighties, the definition of tiflología also extends to the study of the conditions and problems of people with low vision, not only referred only to employment but to different areas and situations, such as study, leisure and domestic life.
The originality of the works of Rafael d'Olot is given because they are highly striking paintings for sighted and while these pieces are accessible to the touch, trained to be observed by the blind and limited visibility, and therefore tiflológicas .

As the idea of painting for the blind.
I Rafel, at the time of writing these words, I am the father of two children, aged 14 Arnau, and Tura 14 months.
My son Arnau, always gives his opinion on the work you see going through the study, and even sometimes, I left with some. My daughter Tura, takes some weeks that has started walking, and is limited to touch everything, just touch everything.
And right here is where we find the beginning of this adventure.
Anyone who has visited the studio of a painter, found that the works will have their own life, form a community and are organized by their corners, or soil piled upon each other as if it were one big family. Precisely, in a work that stood out above the others, came little Tura and fully immersed himself using just his hands, following the points and lines and emitting a sound expressive of satisfaction.
Tura was captivated by the work, and only had 14 months. Here I wondered what it was that she had noticed in the work and why he played carefully. She had just had a sensational and unique tactile experience so far. With his touch, and without seeing a forest, she noticed the roots of the trees, and the bulk of those branches that caressed that sky bright and clean.
At that time, it crossed my mind that the work could be observed even with eyes closed, and this is where the real madness begins.
Clearly, I note that I'm innovating in developing a painting style able to reach the souls of people not using the view. Here, I found the fit between content and form. From this will come a new vision of reality, a vision and unusual touch so far for blind children, blind adults as well, for a general public.
In short, I am convinced that humanity will gain ground in the darkness that sometimes seems to surround.
Now, with the discovery of this new style of painting is achieved the unachievable until now. You get a new annex of power over nature, a potentially unlimited power open to the viewer's mind visual and tactile.
This discovery is one of the roots of magic and, therefore, an advance in the art world.
Dedicated to the world's children, tomorrow's adults. Rafel d'Olot.

Final concept.
Being able to help people in social life, have such difficulties to enjoy art, and getting everyone to be equal.

Review of the work of Rafael d'Olot in the project Adesso Tu, by Cristóbal Colón, founding president of the Cooperativa La Fageda.

"I know Rafel d'Olot years, because often we have crossed the forest of" Fageda "(beech): he looks ecstatic and I crossed my path until the cooperative La Fageda, where work .
Without being understood in art, I have always found his work with admiration and some surprise. And surprise is what caused me your ADESSO TU project that aims to open a new window on the universe of the blind or have impaired vision.
30 years ago The Fageda attempts to provide decent work for people with mental illness or intellectual disabilities in the region of Olot. At this time, we have shown that we all have our abilities, simply find the conditions for them to surface. ADESSO TU follows the same path, offering the collective blind new capabilities and greater dignity.
I would even say that Rafel d'Olot, through ADESSO TU, has achieved this dignity in a teacher, opening his paintings the sense of touch, ie, bringing light to the darkness. "
